Agate Family Retreat is located in Agate Bay on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe halfway between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.  It is around a 20-minute drive to Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, and Northstar ski areas.  

The living area has lots of seating and a TV with DVD and VCR player.  The dining room is close to the kitchen and seats 6 - 8 people.  The kitchen is well equipped for making meals for your family and friends.  Off the living room is a large sunny deck.  On the lower level, there are two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and a TV, the other with a king bed and a bathroom with a bath and shower.  There is also a washer and dryer on this level.  The upstairs is an additional two bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds, the other with a queen bed and a twin bed.  There is also an additional bathroom on this level. 

From this vacation rental, you can be at Lake Tahoe in a couple of minutes drive or a 15-minute amble.  Lake Tahoe has many wonderful beaches and great recreational opportunities, ranging from water skiing and para-sailing to stand up paddleboarding and river rafting.  There are also many great walks and hikes to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers and scenery of Lake Tahoe.  In winter you can go downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing or even snowmobiling.  There is always something exciting to do in Tahoe.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: 
-Additional Fees include cleaning fee, administration fee, and local Transient Occupancy Tax.  
-Although 80% of our properties are pet-friendly - this is NOT a pet-friendly property.  The owners are extremely allergic to pet dander.  Please be respectful of this.  We do not consider service animals pets. If you bring a dog, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.

IMPORTANT:
On March 11th 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
   •Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
   •Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
   •Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 3
 

 
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2.As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3.By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID, is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation and transportation services.

This home was great.
“This home was great. It's an older home, but it was clean and well maintained. Our group of 9 definitely didn't feel congested. The house didn't have enough towels, but after calling Tahoe Moon, Jaimee personally delivered extra towels a couple hours later. The level of service offered by Tahoe Moon exceeded all expectations. We came after a large storm, and they ensured that we had enough parking. This place has enough parking space for 5-6 cars even after a winter storm, which was very important to our group. Overall, I'd recommend this home for large groups. It's conveniently located halfway between Northstar and Squaw and you can get to both resorts in around 20 minutes if there is no traffic.”
