Highlands Lodge is a fabulous 4 bedroom 3 bath home with all the bells and whistles. A gorgeously landscaped front yard and a private hot tub out back. Two west-facing decks furnished with plenty of patio furniture in the front of the house provide the perfect space for dining al fresco in the summer months. This home is minutes from Tahoe City, Skylandia Beach, and the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area. Welcome to your perfect vacation home. Look no further- this home has it all!
An extremely private primary suite encompasses the entire second floor of the home allowing for the head of household feel just as such. A king bed with an ornate wood headboard, a plush sitting area, and a private deck with the slightest peaks of Lake Tahoe beyond the trees ahead are just some of its offerings. It also boasts a TV, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom with an oversized shower stall. You can access this space straight from the entrance of the home, so those who want to travel together but still appreciate some alone time will revel in this luxury. But don't worry, when it's time to all gather, there is more than enough space to create lasting memories. A recently remodeled kitchen boasting incredible "Brazilian Green Fusion" countertops provides the ideal environment for the whole family to chop, stir and sauté into the evening. Whether it's a group effort or there's a go-to chef in the family, ultimately travelers will love coming together at the large rustic dining table to enjoy what was just created. After dinner, play a favorite card game in the family room beyond. There is more than enough (VERY) comfortable seating for all and a fireplace/woodstove to set as the backdrop to the fun. You'll never forget your time at Highlands Lodge, as family memories are what this place is all about.
When it's time to retire, there is a large bedroom just off the living room, and another two down a short hallway from the dining room; all spacious and with queen beds. One of these rooms even has its own en-suite bathroom, while the one off the living room leads to the hot tub out back. Through that door, you will find a nice private yard with said hot tub just waiting for you - ready to relax after a day of adventure in Tahoe. The large deck with an oversized table on the front deck is a perfect locale to host a cookout and barbecue burgers in the summertime. New gorgeous landscaping allows travelers to feel at home and connect with the outdoors simultaneously.
Enjoy this amazing location, minutes from skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and biking! Just minutes from downtown Tahoe City. A 3-minute drive to the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing, as well as miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in the summer months is what you get when you book this one-of-a-kind rental. Or hop on the Tahoe Trailways Bike Path and pedal your way along the west shore. For a fun outing, check out a summer concert at Commons Beach or Kings Beach -- both within a short drive!

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
-Important- Outdoor wood-burning fires and charcoal grills are prohibited per local ordinances.
-Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.
-Although 80% of our properties are pet-friendly - this is NOT a pet-friendly property. Please be respectful of this. We do not consider service animals pets. If you bring a dog, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.
-Check-Out is at 10 am.
On March 11th, 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
•Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
•Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 4
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9 pm - 8 am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3. By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant, and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation, and transportation services.
