Great Escape was built with Tahoe charm in mind, with beautiful lofty knotty pine ceilings and gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the Sierra beauty. Escape the rat race and enjoy some rest and relaxation at this cozy cabin in a quiet neighborhood. This cabin is conveniently located about 5-minutes from Tahoe City and about 10 minutes from Kings Beach. It is just a short ride to some of the best skiing in Tahoe and is located close to some great scenic hiking. When you enter the property, you are greeted with the kitchen and bar area which opens into a large living room and dining room. The living room is set around a beautiful cozy fireplace with a sofa couch in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Downstairs is the half bathroom with the washer and dryer, which are conveniently located near the living area. Taking the stairs to the second floor, you’ll find the two loft rooms, which overlook the great room and lake. The lofted rooms do have a sloping ceiling, which may prove a little cramped for tall visitors.
Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.
The whole cabin is charming with lots of light. One of the highlights of this Classic cabin is its unique glass architectural prow overlooking filtered lake views that enhance the mountain ambiance throughout the living area. The property is in a nice quiet neighborhood between Dollar Point and Cedar Flat with access on the street Old County Road. It is set back off the street to take advantage of the Tahoe ambiance and offers an escape from everything.
The beauty of this location in the winter months is that you are equal distance from Palisades Tahoe and Northstar for some world-class skiing and riding. If you are not much of a downhill skiing enthusiast, you are near the Nordic Center for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. This property allows for the best of both worlds: you have the serene and peaceful character of the cabin, coupled with a convenient location to enjoy the services of Tahoe City.
This is a dog-friendly house but in order to bring a dog, you must pay a $70 dog fee per dog, 2 dog maximum. If you bring a dog without paying the dog fee, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
• This is a dog-friendly house but in order to bring a dog, you must pay a $70 dog fee per dog, 2 dog maximum. If you bring a dog without paying the dog fee, you will be subject to a fine much greater than the pet fee.
• Additional Fees include cleaning fee, administration fee, and local Transient Occupancy Tax.
• Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe
• Check-out is at 10 am.
• Like all of our homes, this property is VERY firmly non-smoking anywhere on the property lines.
IMPORTANT:
On March 11th, 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
•Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 8 am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
•Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 2
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9 pm - 8 am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3. By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant, and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation, and transportation services.
